Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activity
- Assist with vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises
- Document security incidents and contribute to incident response playbooks
- Perform basic network traffic analysis using Wireshark and similar tools
- Participate in security awareness training initiatives for employees
- Assist with patch management and configuration compliance checks
- Support forensic investigations under senior analyst guidance
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS)
- Eagerness to learn security tools (Splunk, Nessus, Metasploit)
- Strong analytical problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification preferred (training provided)
- Must pass background check and drug screening
