Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and report on network traffic for potential security breaches and anomalies.
- Assist in the implementation and configuration of firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and antivirus software.
- Conduct daily security audits and vulnerability assessments of internal systems.
- Respond to security alerts and incidents under the guidance of senior security engineers.
- Document security protocols, incident reports, and system configurations for compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure software deployment and patch management.
- Participate in ongoing security training and certification preparation (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH).
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience: No prior cybersecurity experience required. However, basic computer literacy and understanding of how networks operate are essential.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting security findings.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including potential on-call rotations for incident response.
