Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and implement security protocols, policies, and incident response procedures
- Perform forensic analysis on security incidents and create detailed incident reports
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA standards
- Stay current with emerging cyber threats and recommend mitigation strategies
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical incident response
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and security automation platforms
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud architectures (AWS/Azure), and endpoint security
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms and vulnerability scanning tools
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to document complex security incidents
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder reporting
