Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems, networks, and applications for suspicious activities using SIEM tools
- Investigate security incidents, analyze root causes, and implement remediation measures
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including incident response plans and playbooks
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Stay current with emerging threats and security trends through continuous learning
- Generate comprehensive security reports for stakeholders and leadership
- Participate in security awareness training for employees
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, threat detection, or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification (or equivalent)
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and security automation tools
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and compliance frameworks
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys) and penetration testing
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to prioritize security incidents
- Effective communication skills for documenting incidents and presenting findings
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a flexible environment
