Responsibilities
- Threat Detection & Monitoring: Utilize SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to analyze logs and security alerts, identifying potential threats before they escalate.
- Incident Response: Lead the investigation, containment, and remediation of security breaches, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability scans and penetration tests, documenting findings and working with engineering teams to patch vulnerabilities.
- Security Architecture: Assist in the design and implementation of security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Compliance & Auditing: Ensure strict adherence to NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA frameworks through documentation, policy creation, and compliance audits.
- Collaboration: Partner with IT and development teams to integrate security best practices into the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
- Certifications: Active CISSP, CEH, Security+, GCIH, or CCNA Security certifications are highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, network administration, or a related IT role.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, network protocols, and operating systems (Linux/Windows). Experience with scripting (Python/Bash) is a plus.
- Tool Mastery: Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms, EDR solutions, and vulnerability scanners (Nessus, Qualys).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication abilities, and the capacity to work well under pressure during active incidents.
