Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel) to identify potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to proactively identify system weaknesses.
- Respond to and mitigate security incidents, including forensics analysis and root cause determination.
- Implement and maintain security controls, including firewalls, anti-malware, and intrusion detection systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as NIST, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS through regular audits and documentation.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
- Produce regular security reports and briefings for executive leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
- 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC operations, or network administration.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, GDPR).
- Hands-on experience with SIEM technologies (Splunk, ArcSight) and EDR tools.
- Certifications such as Security+, CEH, CISSP, or GCIH are highly preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder reporting.
