Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and develop mitigation strategies
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions
- Generate comprehensive incident reports and executive summaries for stakeholders
- Stay current with emerging threats, attack vectors, and defensive technologies
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security is integrated into all system lifecycles
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or threat analysis
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency with security tools: SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners, and packet analyzers
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud architectures
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
- Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple high-priority incidents
