Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cyber threats in real-time
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure and applications
- Incident response coordination including threat containment, eradication, and forensic analysis
- Develop and maintain security documentation including playbooks, policies, and incident reports
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA, GDPR)
- Lead security awareness training programs for employees across multiple departments
- Analyze emerging threats and recommend proactive security measures using threat intelligence platforms
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or incident response
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network security protocols
- Strong understanding of NIST frameworks and risk assessment methodologies
- Experience with cloud security platforms (AWS/Azure security services)
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to document complex security incidents clearly
- Valid US government security clearance or ability to obtain one
