Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cyber threats in real-time
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, including root cause analysis and mitigation strategies
- Develop and implement security controls to prevent unauthorized access and data breaches
- Generate comprehensive security reports and executive dashboards communicating threat intelligence
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, HIPAA, and industry-specific regulations
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Lead incident response coordination during security breaches and disaster recovery scenarios
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or SOC environments
- Industry certifications: CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or GIAC preferred
- Expertise in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and threat detection methodologies
- Strong understanding of network protocols, encryption standards, and attack vectors
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys) and patch management
- Ability to obtain Secret clearance (required for government contracts)
