Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activities and potential breaches
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Lead incident response activities including containment, eradication, and recovery operations
- Develop and maintain security documentation including policies, procedures, and playbooks
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls across network infrastructure
- Analyze malware samples and emerging threats to enhance defensive capabilities
- Generate comprehensive security reports for executive leadership and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in threat detection and incident response
- Industry certifications: CISSP, Security+, or GIAC preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and IDS/IPS solutions
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and endpoint protection
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys) and penetration testing
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to prioritize security alerts and incidents
- Valid U.S. government security clearance or ability to obtain one
