Responsibilities
- Monitor security events using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and analyze logs for suspicious activity
- Investigate security incidents, conduct forensic analysis, and coordinate incident response
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
- Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis
- Develop security documentation, policies, and procedures
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR standards
- Stay current on emerging threats and recommend proactive security measures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in SOC or incident response roles
- Expertise in SIEM platforms, threat intelligence, and network security protocols
- Industry certifications (CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or GIAC preferred)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to correlate complex security data
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys) and penetration testing
- Excellent communication skills for reporting to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 security operations environment
