Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing across network infrastructure
- Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement remediation
- Develop and maintain security documentation including playbooks, policies, and reports
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Stay current on emerging threats and threat intelligence to proactively defend systems
- Assist with compliance initiatives (NIST, ISO 27001) and security audits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or incident response
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network security technologies
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms and vulnerability scanning tools
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize incidents under pressure
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain (required)
