Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and investigate potential threats using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar)
- Conduct forensic analysis of security incidents and coordinate incident response procedures
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including playbooks and incident reports
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Implement security controls and configurations to protect network infrastructure
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA standards
- Stay current with emerging cyber threats and recommend mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or incident response
- Professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS systems, and threat intelligence tools
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Windows/Linux systems, and cloud security
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys) and penetration testing
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to prioritize security incidents
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
