Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents with rapid containment protocols
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on enterprise systems
- Develop and maintain security documentation (playbooks, policies, procedures)
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and hardening measures
- Perform forensic analysis on security breaches and compile detailed incident reports
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend proactive mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience in SOC operations or threat detection
- Industry certifications: CISSP, Security+, or CompTIA CySA+ required
- Proficiency in network protocols, firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), and IDS/IPS
- Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Excellent written communication for executive-level reporting
- Active DoD Secret clearance preferred
