Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms and investigate security alerts across complex IT environments
- Conduct forensic analysis of security incidents and implement containment measures
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including playbooks and policies
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network assets
- Collaborate with IT teams to remediate security gaps and implement hardening measures
- Provide 24/7 incident response support during security breaches
- Generate comprehensive security reports for executive stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience in SOC operations or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Expertise in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and EDR solutions
- Strong knowledge of NIST frameworks and compliance standards
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation
- Ability to thrive under pressure during high-stakes security incidents
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
