Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents using tools like Wireshark and EnCase
- Develop and maintain security playbooks for incident response procedures
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and patch management
- Generate comprehensive security reports for executive stakeholders
- Stay current with emerging threats and vulnerabilities via threat intelligence feeds
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Assist with compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations or SOC environments
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency with SIEM tools, IDS/IPS systems, and endpoint security platforms
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, Windows/Linux systems, and cloud security
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to prioritize under pressure
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for technical documentation
