Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) platforms to detect, investigate, and respond to cyber incidents
- Conduct forensic analysis of security breaches and develop detailed incident response reports
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Collaborate with IT teams to remediate security gaps and implement best practices
- Stay current on emerging threats and attack vectors through continuous research
- Assist in developing security policies, procedures, and employee training programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations, threat detection, or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and security automation platforms
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud security architectures
- Experience with threat intelligence feeds and vulnerability scanning tools
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively under pressure during security incidents
