Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) for real-time threat detection and incident response
- Conduct forensic investigations of security breaches and compile detailed incident reports
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including playbooks and SOPs
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis
- Lead security awareness training programs for stakeholders
- Stay current with emerging threats and adapt defense strategies accordingly
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or security analysis
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and IDS/IPS systems
- Professional certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell) and automation tools
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (e.g., Recorded Future, AlienVault)
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work under pressure during incidents
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
