Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents in real-time using SIEM tools like Splunk and QRadar.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses before malicious actors do.
- Implement and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and endpoint protection solutions.
- Enforce security policies and ensure compliance with industry standards (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure secure deployment of applications and infrastructure.
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate audit trails.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC preferred.
- 3+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity or network administration.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, networking, and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Proficiency in scripting (Python or PowerShell) and log analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
