Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Windows Server and Linux environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file systems
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures to protect against threats and vulnerabilities
- Oversee cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure) including virtualization, containerization, and hybrid deployments
- Perform system backups, disaster recovery testing, and incident response protocols
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, Bash, and Ansible scripts
- Collaborate with network engineers on firewall configurations and VPN solutions
- Document system configurations and create technical SOPs
- Provide Tier-3 support and mentor junior IT staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of system administration experience with Windows Server 2016+ and Linux distributions
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V)
- Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, MCSA, or Linux+ preferred
- Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
- Deep understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN)
- Proven track record in implementing security best practices and compliance frameworks
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure during outages
