Responsibilities
- Monitor Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) for real-time threat detection and incident response.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security gaps.
- Enforce compliance with industry standards including HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27001.
- Manage and configure firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Document security incidents, create forensic reports, and participate in post-incident reviews.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure software development and deployment practices.
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to non-technical staff members.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or network administration.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, and network protocols.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python or PowerShell) for security automation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a part-time capacity.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and security clearance process.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to relocate to Austin, TX.
