Responsibilities
- Network Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and wireless networks to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software network issues, including connectivity problems, router failures, and firewall configurations.
- Security Management: Implement and monitor network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems to protect sensitive data.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed network diagrams, inventory logs, and technical documentation to support team operations.
- Cabling: Perform physical cabling tasks, including running Cat6 cables, terminating patch panels, and organizing server room infrastructure.
- Support: Provide Tier 2 technical support to internal staff and resolve escalated IT incidents in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in network administration or systems engineering.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
- Tools: Strong working knowledge of network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark) and operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
