Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts via SIEM platforms and investigate potential incidents in real-time
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing across network infrastructure
- Develop/implement security policies, procedures, and incident response playbooks
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS standards
- Analyze malware behavior and threat intelligence to proactively mitigate risks
- Document security incidents and provide executive-level reporting
- Stay current on emerging threats through continuous research and training
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar)
- Industry certifications (CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GIAC preferred)
- Expert knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and IDS/IPS systems
- Experience with threat hunting and forensic investigation methodologies
- Strong analytical skills with ability to prioritize critical incidents
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for technical/non-technical audiences
