Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and incidents using SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar)
- Conduct threat hunting and forensic investigations to identify attack vectors
- Develop and implement security controls for network, cloud, and endpoint systems
- Generate comprehensive incident response reports and executive summaries
- Collaborate with IT teams to remediate vulnerabilities and patch management
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend proactive security measures
- Participate in penetration testing and vulnerability assessments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in SOC or similar role
- Certifications: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred
- Expertise in threat detection, incident response, and forensic tools
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and NIST frameworks
- Experience with security automation and scripting (Python, PowerShell)
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work under pressure
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain required clearance
