Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts, events, and logs from SIEM systems to identify potential threats and anomalies.
- Conduct real-time threat hunting and respond to security incidents with minimal latency.
- Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPNs.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and support penetration testing activities to strengthen network defenses.
- Document security incidents, post-incident reports, and maintain audit trails.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security patches and software updates across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory standards (NIST, HIPAA, etc.).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Active CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a SOC environment or information security role.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, and common network protocols.
- Proficiency in tools such as Splunk, SIEM, Firewalls, and endpoint protection software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
