The Role:
As a Night Shift Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, debugging, and deployment of our core software products. You will ensure system uptime during off-peak hours and collaborate with the day team to resolve complex technical challenges.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain high-quality software code for our enterprise applications.
- Monitor system performance, logs, and alerts during night shifts to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Debug and resolve critical issues reported during off-peak hours to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with the QA team to automate testing pipelines for night deployments.
- Document technical requirements, architecture changes, and system updates.
- Implement security patches and updates to protect sensitive data.
- Participate in code reviews and technical planning sessions with the wider engineering team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in at least two of the following: Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of database management systems (SQL, NoSQL) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Ability to work effectively independently during night shifts without supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
