The Role:
As a Senior System Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of our diverse IT infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment of new technologies and maintain high standards of system security and performance.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage Windows Server and Linux environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Oversee Active Directory administration, including user management, group policies, and identity access management (IAM).
- Configure and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and switches.
- Implement and monitor security protocols, disaster recovery plans, and backup strategies to protect corporate data.
- Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python to improve efficiency.
- Provide Level 3 support for critical system issues, working closely with vendors and third-party service providers.
- Conduct regular system audits and capacity planning to anticipate future hardware and software needs.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of professional experience as a System Administrator or Network Engineer in a Windows-centric environment.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or CISSP are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Scripting: Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting for automation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent military/technical experience.
