Apex Data Systems is seeking a highly skilled Senior System Administrator to join our growing team in Raleigh, NC. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the stability, security, and scalability of our IT environment, supporting both on-premise and cloud-based solutions. Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Linux and Windows Server environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, and VPNs.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages such as Python or Bash to improve operational efficiency.
- Oversee cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure) and ensure data backup and disaster recovery procedures are current.
- Monitor system health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless deployment and integration of applications.
- Enforce security policies and conduct regular audits to protect sensitive data.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a System Administrator or Network Engineer.
- Strong proficiency in Linux (RHEL, CentOS) and Windows Server administration.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Expertise in scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and automation tools.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- CompTIA Security+ or higher certification is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
