Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex server environments (Windows/Linux) across hybrid cloud infrastructure
- Proactively monitor system health using tools like Nagios and Splunk to ensure 99.9% uptime
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and VPN services for 500+ endpoints
- Lead disaster recovery planning and execute system backups/restores
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement NIST 800-53 compliance measures
- Document SOPs and create automation scripts using PowerShell/Python
- Provide Tier-3 support for complex system outages and performance issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on system administration in enterprise environments
- Expert-level knowledge of Windows Server 2019/2022 and Ubuntu 20.04+
- Active security clearance (or ability to obtain Secret clearance)
- Proven experience with VMware vSphere and Azure/AWS cloud services
- Certifications in CompTIA Server+, MCSE, or Linux+ required
- Strong scripting abilities (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
- Experience with federal IT compliance frameworks
