We're urgently seeking a Senior System Administrator to join our dynamic IT team in downtown Chicago. In this critical role, you'll ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our complex infrastructure while supporting 500+ employees across multiple locations. Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize Windows Server, Linux, and cloud environments (AWS/Azure)
- Implement and maintain security protocols, firewalls, and access controls
- Oversee backup systems, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware/software issues within SLAs
- Automate workflows using PowerShell, Python, or Ansible
- Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
- Document systems, processes, and runbooks comprehensively
Qualifications
- 5+ years of enterprise system administration experience
- Expertise in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and group policies
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell/Python/Bash)
- Experience with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) and containerization
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification required
- Proven track record in high-availability environments
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
