The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will take ownership of the engineering lifecycle, from architectural design to deployment. You will collaborate with quants and traders to build tools that provide a competitive edge in the market.
Responsibilities
- System Architecture: Design robust, scalable microservices architecture for equity options pricing and execution engines.
- API Development: Build and maintain high-throughput RESTful and GraphQL APIs for internal trading desks and external clients.
- Data Processing: Implement real-time data ingestion pipelines using Kafka and Spark to process market feeds.
- Code Quality: Lead code reviews, establish coding standards, and mentor junior developers to ensure best practices.
- Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks in the trading stack and optimize database queries and application performance.
- Security: Implement security best practices to protect sensitive financial data and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in fintech, high-frequency trading, or financial data systems.
- Programming: Proficiency in Python, Java, or C++ with deep understanding of concurrency and multithreading.
- Infrastructure: Strong experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Database: Expertise in SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) for data modeling.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
