Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and optimize enterprise-grade LAN/WAN infrastructure including Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls
- Implement and manage network security protocols (VPN, IDS/IPS, ACLs) to protect sensitive data
- Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds and Wireshark to prevent outages
- Collaborate with cloud teams on hybrid network architecture including AWS and Azure integration
- Document network configurations and create disaster recovery plans
- Train junior technicians on network best practices and troubleshooting methodologies
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on network administration experience with Cisco CCNP/CCIE certification
- Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and VLAN protocols
- Strong proficiency in network automation tools (Ansible, Python)
- Experience with SD-WAN solutions and wireless network optimization
- Valid Alaska State Security Clearance preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical certification
