Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential cyber threats in real-time.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses and recommend remediation strategies.
- Manage and configure firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and VPNs to ensure network segmentation and secure access controls.
- Investigate and remediate security incidents, including malware infections and data breaches, following established incident response procedures.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks such as NIST, HIPAA, and ISO 27001 through documentation and audits.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to staff members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent security certification (e.g., CEH, Security+).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on incident response and threat hunting.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, networking protocols, and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
- Hands-on experience with security tools such as Nessus, Metasploit, and SIEM platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and maintain high productivity standards.
