Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to identify and respond to potential threats
- Conduct forensic investigations on security incidents, documenting findings and recommending remediation actions
- Develop and maintain security automation scripts to enhance threat detection capabilities
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Create comprehensive incident response plans and conduct tabletop exercises
- Stay current with emerging threats and security technologies through continuous research
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or threat analysis
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, IDS/IPS systems, and network security protocols
- Strong analytical skills with experience in threat hunting and incident response
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision
