Apex Data Systems is currently seeking a skilled professional to manage our enterprise network infrastructure. We offer a hybrid work model, allowing you the flexibility to work from our San Francisco office or remotely.
In this role, you will ensure the stability, security, and performance of our critical network systems. If you are passionate about network architecture and troubleshooting complex connectivity issues, we want you on our team.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) hardware and software components.
- Monitor network performance using advanced monitoring tools to identify and resolve bottlenecks or security vulnerabilities.
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs to ensure secure data transmission.
- Perform routine maintenance, including firmware updates, patch management, and system backups.
- Document network topology changes, configurations, and incident reports accurately.
- Collaborate with the DevOps and Security teams to implement new network projects and upgrades.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal staff regarding network connectivity and equipment.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in network administration or technical support.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or JNCIA are highly desirable.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios) and scripting (Python/Bash).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to the SF office for on-site maintenance as needed.
