Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel).
- Conduct daily vulnerability assessments and penetration testing support to identify system weaknesses.
- Manage and configure next-generation firewalls and intrusion prevention systems.
- Enforce security policies and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, NIST).
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement secure coding practices and patch management.
- Investigate suspicious network activity and produce detailed post-incident reports.
- Conduct security awareness training for staff members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3-5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or a related IT role.
- Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GCIH are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, and common network protocols.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation and incident response.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
