Responsibilities
- Monitor security events and alerts using SIEM tools (Splunk, LogRhythm) to identify potential intrusions and respond immediately.
- Conduct regular vulnerability scans and penetration testing to assess the resilience of our network and applications.
- Investigate and remediate security incidents, ensuring detailed documentation and root cause analysis.
- Manage firewall policies, access controls, and Identity and Access Management (IAM) protocols to enforce the principle of least privilege.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate security controls into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to internal stakeholders to reduce human error risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, preferably within a SOC environment.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or GCIH are highly preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of TCP/IP, networking, and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Proficiency with security tools including Microsoft Defender, FireEye, or similar EDR solutions.
- Experience with scripting (Python or PowerShell) for automation and log analysis.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
