Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to sophisticated cyber threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, documenting findings and recommending remediation actions
- Develop and implement security controls including firewall rules, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection strategies
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security gaps
- Create comprehensive incident response plans and conduct tabletop exercises to prepare for security breaches
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into IT infrastructure and software development lifecycle
- Stay current with emerging threats and industry trends, contributing to threat intelligence and security awareness initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or incident response
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, vulnerability scanners, and security automation platforms
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud architectures (AWS/Azure), and security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven experience developing security documentation and policies
