Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and mitigate sophisticated cyber threats
- Lead incident response operations, including forensic investigation and containment of security breaches
- Develop and implement proactive security controls to reduce vulnerability exposure
- Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments across cloud/on-premise environments
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to embed security practices into CI/CD pipelines
- Generate executive-level security reports and compliance documentation for regulatory frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to continuous improvement of SOC operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, threat intelligence, or incident response
- Professional certifications: CISSP, GIAC (GCIH/GCSA), or CompTIA Security+
- Expertise in network security protocols (TCP/IP, IDS/IPS, firewalls)
- Proficiency in threat hunting techniques and MITRE ATT&CK framework application
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and containerized environments
- Strong analytical skills with ability to correlate complex security data
- Valid U.S. government security clearance or ability to obtain one
