Responsibilities
- Threat Detection & Response: Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to mitigate potential breaches in real-time.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in systems and applications, ensuring timely remediation.
- Security Operations: Manage and maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems to enforce security policies and protocols.
- Incident Response: Lead or support the investigation of security incidents, performing forensic analysis and coordinating with internal teams to resolve issues.
- Compliance & Auditing: Ensure compliance with industry standards such as NIST, HIPAA, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 by preparing documentation and supporting external audits.
- Policy Enforcement: Develop, review, and update security policies and procedures to align with changing threat landscapes and regulatory requirements.
- Training & Awareness: Conduct security awareness training sessions for employees to foster a culture of security within the organization.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, network security, or information security analysis.
- Certifications: Active CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ certification is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SIEM technologies (Splunk, ArcSight, or Azure Sentinel), endpoint protection (Endpoint Detection and Response), and scripting (Python or PowerShell).
- Networking: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, network protocols, and network architecture.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Tools: Experience with vulnerability scanners (Nessus, Qualys) and identity management systems.
