Responsibilities
- 24/7 Security Monitoring: Lead the weekend shift in monitoring security events, alerts, and logs using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time.
- Incident Response: Investigate, triage, and remediate security incidents with high urgency during off-hours, ensuring minimal downtime for critical systems.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct and oversee vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities to identify security gaps before they are exploited.
- Threat Intelligence: Analyze threat intelligence feeds to stay ahead of emerging cyber-attacks and update defense mechanisms accordingly.
- Compliance & Reporting: Generate and maintain detailed incident reports and compliance documentation (SOC 2, HIPAA) for internal and external audits.
- Firewall & Access Control: Manage and configure firewall rules, VPN access, and identity management protocols to secure network perimeters.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Equivalent experience is accepted.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or SOC operations. Must be available to work weekends (Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday).
- Certifications: CISSP, CISM, or CEH certification is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS, firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto), and endpoint protection (EDR).
- Scripting: Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automating security tasks.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting to stakeholders and management.
