Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning
- Lead experimental quantum computing projects using superconducting and photonic systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to improve qubit stability and error correction
- Publish research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure government and industry grants for quantum research initiatives
- Mentor PhD interns and junior researchers
- Develop roadmaps for quantum advantage in finance, logistics, and drug discovery
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent research experience)
- 3+ years of quantum computing research with published papers
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum programming frameworks
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and quantum circuit optimization
- Experience with quantum annealing or gate-based quantum systems
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding ($500K+)
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and information theory
- Passion for ethical quantum technology development
