Responsibilities
- Design & Refine Prompts: Create complex, multi-step prompts for LLMs (e.g., GPT-4, Claude) to achieve specific business outcomes and creative goals.
- Output Analysis: Critically evaluate AI responses to identify biases, inaccuracies, and hallucinations, refining prompts to improve accuracy and tone.
- System Prompt Engineering: Develop and maintain system-level instructions that govern the behavior, personality, and safety guidelines of our AI agents.
- Iterative Testing: Conduct rigorous A/B testing on prompt variations to determine the most effective phrasing and structural approaches.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of prompt libraries and best practices to ensure knowledge transfer across the engineering team.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with software developers and product managers to integrate AI capabilities into our core software solutions.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience in prompt engineering or working directly with Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Writing Skills: Exceptional command of the English language, including grammar, tone, and rhetoric, with a portfolio of strong writing samples.
- Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with AI tools, APIs, and basic Python scripting is a strong plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Computer Science, Linguistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to spot nuances in text that can drastically change AI behavior.
- Stockton Residency: Must be based in or willing to commute to Stockton, CA.
- Curiosity: A deep passion for learning about new AI developments and trends in Natural Language Processing.
