Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies using SQL, Python, and statistical methods
- Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using Tableau/Power BI to communicate findings to stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and deliver actionable recommendations
- Ensure data quality through cleansing, validation, and documentation of data sources and methodologies
- Support ad-hoc analysis projects for clients in federal agencies and policy organizations
- Stay current with emerging analytics tools and methodologies applicable to public sector data
- Present insights through clear, concise reports and presentations tailored to technical and non-technical audiences
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 2+ years of professional data analysis experience with demonstrated portfolio of projects
- Expert proficiency in SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Strong skills in Python (Pandas, NumPy) and/or R for data manipulation and analysis
- Advanced experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent)
- Understanding of statistical methods and experimental design
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical findings for diverse stakeholders
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a part-time capacity
