Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and system logs in real-time to detect and respond to potential security threats and anomalies.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in our infrastructure.
- Investigate security incidents, manage incident response workflows, and document findings for remediation.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and endpoint protection solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and ISO 27001 through auditing and reporting.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security best practices and patch management strategies.
- Provide security awareness training to employees and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Valid certification such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP.
- Proven experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, LogRhythm) and endpoint protection software.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, VPNs, and common network protocols.
- Familiarity with cloud security principles (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to commit to a flexible schedule of 20-25 hours per week.
