Role Overview:
As a Part-Time Cybersecurity Analyst, you will play a critical role in protecting our client's digital infrastructure. You will work closely with our senior team to monitor systems, identify vulnerabilities, and respond to security incidents. Responsibilities
- Threat Monitoring: Continuously monitor network traffic, logs, and alerts to identify suspicious activities and potential security breaches.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability scans and risk assessments to ensure systems are compliant with industry standards.
- Incident Response: Assist in the detection, analysis, and response to security incidents, including root cause analysis and remediation.
- Security Hardening: Implement and maintain security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.
- Policy Enforcement: Develop and update security policies and procedures, ensuring they align with best practices such as NIST or ISO 27001.
- Reporting: Create detailed reports on security posture and incident activity for stakeholders and management.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Certifications: CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network security, information security, or a related technical field.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, networking protocols, and common attack vectors.
- Tools: Proficiency with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, ELK Stack), firewalls (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto), and endpoint protection solutions.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for translating technical findings to non-technical audiences.
