Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms (Splunk/Symantec) for security anomalies and potential threats
- Conduct forensic analysis of security incidents and document detailed reports
- Implement and maintain security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection)
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises
- Collaborate with IT teams to remediate security gaps
- Ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA standards
- Develop incident response playbooks and conduct tabletop exercises
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or incident response
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network protocols
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys)
- Familiarity with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and zero-trust architectures
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and prioritize critical incidents
