Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and data communications systems.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, hardware failures, and software errors to ensure minimal downtime.
- Perform regular system audits and security checks to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance.
- Upgrade network hardware, routers, switches, and firewalls as required to meet evolving business needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network architecture, configurations, and changes.
- Respond to help desk tickets and provide technical support to end-users regarding network access and usage.
- Manage and assist with physical network cabling and infrastructure projects.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Certification such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or similar is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies.
- Experience with network cabling standards (Cat6, fiber optics) and hardware installation.
- Proficiency in configuring routers, switches, and firewalls from major vendors like Cisco.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license may be required for site visits.
