Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure including routers, switches, and firewalls
- Proactively monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds and Nagios
- Diagnose and resolve complex network outages within SLA timeframes
- Implement cybersecurity protocols including VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access controls
- Document network topology, configurations, and incident reports
- Collaborate with cloud teams on hybrid network architecture solutions
- Provide Tier-3 support escalation for critical infrastructure issues
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on network administration experience
- CCNA or CompTIA Network+ certification (or equivalent)
- Proficiency with Cisco/Juniper routers and enterprise switches
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs
- Experience with network security frameworks (NIST, CIS)
- Ability to work rotating on-call shifts for emergency response
- Valid Alaska driver's license for occasional client site visits
- OSI model troubleshooting expertise
