Responsibilities
- Configure, install, and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Perform regular network audits, performance monitoring, and security assessments to identify vulnerabilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network connectivity issues for internal users and external clients.
- Document network configurations, topology diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) meticulously.
- Collaborate with the IT department to deploy software updates, security patches, and network upgrades.
- Provide tier 2 technical support and training to end-users regarding network access and hardware peripherals.
- Ensure compliance with company IT policies and industry best practices for network security.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field (Bachelor's preferred).
- Certifications such as CCNA, Network+, CCNP, or equivalent experience are strongly desired.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of professional experience in network administration or technical support.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and routing protocols.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites within the Lubbock area.
